THE RIOT POLICE

The Riot Police, are a 5 piece band based out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The band was created and first formed with the Shine Music Academy in the year 2008. They first started out as a three piece, and after a year, 2 of the band members left, and Alex Boyd (who played bass and sang in the group at the time but is now current lead singer) was left, looking for new members to play with him.
At first he found a guitarist named Keith Hoddinott (Current lead guitarist, and back up vocalist) then he just had to find a drummer. That’s when Alex and Keith found, Keagan Eskritt.
After half a year of playing, the band decided, that it was time to acquire a fourth member to take up the job of rhythm guitarist, so the band could increase it’s song list. That’s when Nick Jones was introduced to the band. The band played it’s first gig 1 week after Nick joined the band, at Irene’s pub. A few weeks later in March, the band started to perform some of there own original material. The first song they wrote together is called Road To Nowhere.
BEARSHARK

Bearshark has been added to the line for Oktoberfest Ottawa 2011. Called a one man band with four arms and four legs, this Ottawa band will be performing on Sunday October 2nd.

THE BUSHPILOTS

Some bands play like they’re the last rock and roll band on earth. The Bushpilots are one of those bands.
Steeped in severe rock and roll tradition and whip smart song writing, with a mission to incite a party everywhere they perform, the Bushpilots proudly wear their influences on their sleeves, paying stylistic homage to artists like the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and the Clash.
The Bushpilots have been tearing up stages at festivals and clubs alike in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec for almost a decade. Their acclaimed debut, Sonic Scenery was released in 2005 followed by the raucous Fourteen Dollar Motel (2007) and most recently, the classic Seven Ways to Broadway (2009). The Bushpilots fourth album will be released in the spring of 2012.
ROCKET RACHED & THE FAT CITY 8

“Rocket Rached and Fat City 8″ is a 9-piece band consisting of a kick ass horn section, guitar, keyboard, killer rhythm section and a lead Blues man that brings everyone to the dance floor on the first song. This band is comprised of Juno award winners that have played with some of the best blues musicians in the world. The band is an institution!
“Rocket Rached”, the front man for Fat City 8, is described as a classic blues shouter. Who harkens back to the days of Jimmy Witherspoon and Big Joe Turner. The “Rocket” is a front-man extraordinaire without equal, who erupts with energy once on stage. His style is both infectious and entertaining, bringing the band and everyone in the room to another level.
The Rocket-with his “beat up” tuba and extraordinary band- has traveled across the country making new friends, all the while shoutin’ the blues!
GRAHAM GREER

Canadian singer/songwriter Graham Greer is the former lead singer/guitarist/songwriter of Barstool Prophets, who toured Canada and the US through much of the 1990′s in support of one 1993 indie release and two major-label releases while signed to Mercury/Polygram (1995′s “Crank” and1997′s “Last of the Big Game Hunters”).
After Barstool Prophets parted ways in 1999, Graham got as far away from the music business as he could, becoming a mechanic’s apprentice and learning the trade. Bruised knuckles and gritted teeth soon followed and Greer found himself sending home-recordings to his friend, veteran US producer Joe Hardy (ZZ Top, Steve Earle, Tom Cochrane) to get some input and salvage his sanity.
Graham has since released one solo CD under the name ‘Moonlight Graham’ entitled ‘Palookaville’ (2003) which he co-produced with Joe Hardy and released a self-titled solo CD in 2009. This CDs production was shared between Graham, Joe Hardy and Graham’s long-time friend and multi-instrumentalist Todd Huckabone.
Graham & company are currently working on a new batch of songs tentatively scheduled for release in the spring of 2012.
SILVER CREEK

Ottawa based Silver Creek is one of the city’s hardest working bands. Having twice toured Canada since their formation four years ago, they have released two albums and have played alongside the likes of Lucinda Williams, Further, Tom Cochrane and Blue Rodeo.
Silver Creek consists of Shawn Tavenier (vocals, guitar), Blair Hogan (guitar, vocals), Jeff Rogers (piano, organs, vocals), Mark Laforest (Bass), and Shane McEwan (drums). The diverse lineup combines the experience of some of Ottawa’s most talented players. Their exciting and powerful live show features the strength of three vocalists, against the backdrop of a thundering rhythm section.
The band’s evasive sound has been described as: “..strongly reminiscent of certain influences such as The Band, The Allman Brothers and Neil Young, but never coming even close to sounding like an imitation.” Fresh off of a three week tour of the UK, and about to release their third record ‘Princes and Kings,’ this year is sure to be a busy one for this Canadian rock outfit.
OLD WHISKEY ROAD

Old Whiskey Road came together in Ottawa rather randomly in 2009, a motley group of musicians bringing different influences and perspectives that have somehow blended into one solid and sophisticated sound. With members coming from diverse backgrounds in music scenes ranging from Toronto to Ottawa to Montreal, Old Whiskey Road combines northern country and alternative rock with hints of folk and the blues. Led by front-man Dave Morrow, whose simple yet elegant melodies will stay in your head all day, Old Whiskey Road is a refreshing stop in a modern musical landscape littered by artless noise. For audiences nostalgic for sweet-sounding tunes with meaning, Old Whiskey Road will take you.

TITAN RAIN

Titan Rain was formed in 2004 after the breakup of Emergency Broadcast System in Ottawa, On, Canada. Originally formed as an acoustic duo, the band’s musical direction was growing and evolving with every performance. In early 2010 the current lineup of lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Fabien Melanson, (Emergency Broadcast system), drummer Jaret Ross, (Show Band Mask, and My Favourite Tragedy) and bassist Steve Poll (Sin Kickers, Cody Allen Band) was formed when both Steve and Jaret found their other music endeavors coming to a close. After only a few rehearsals, the band embarked on the next leg of their journey: to write and record the debut album that would introduce them to the world.
Together, the trio’s focus and drive has provided the band with songs that are familiar yet cutting edge. Their contemporary rock, pop, folk, and rockabilly backgrounds give Titan Rain the unique sound that is nothing short of melodic, bittersweet, powerful and soulful. With influences including Kings of Leon, The White Stripes and Three Days Grace, Titan Rain appeals to a broad range of audiences, all of whom are drawn in by the energy of the rhythm section, Fabien’s charismatic voice and the synergy of three talented individuals whose love for music is apparent in every note, chord and lyric.
The band wasted little time and connected with Canadian Producer Luke Beaulac and recorded their first single “Catching Bullets” in August 2010. That single lead to winning a songwriting competition for Canadian Apparel Company “Prince of Spades” later that month. Other awards won by the band include “Best Performer 2010” at Hooley’s Battle-of-the-Bands charity event in Ottawa, Canada, and “Best Singer 2010” at the Great Canadian Cabin $20,000 giveaway on July 1st, 2010
Titan Rain is actively seeking management, representation and funding to release their debut album. This support will enable them to embark on the next stretch of their musical journey. If you are interested in helping and supporting them in reaching their goals, please contact them at: titanrainmusic@gmail.com or by visiting their website: www.titanrain.ca.
